Giordano’s self-performing sitework division performed site improvement, mass excavation and backfilling of pits as well as the installation of concrete slab and foundation work, underground utilities, and concrete/ granite walks and curbs for the new construction of this high rise building. This 57,000 SF facility includes office space, 15,560 SF of ground- floor retail space and 24 residential units in a “wrap” structure surrounded in part by an 845 open air parking garage. The project includes a medical office building that utilizes high efficiency HVAC equipment and light fixtures as well as low-flow plumbing fixtures. The road work aspect included the installation of a new sewer line in center of Dwight Street from Legion Avenue to North Frontage Road in New Haven’s busy downtown district; mill and overlay work; and curb lines.
