TITLE: 77 Prospect Street, 89 Trumbull Street, Institution of Social & Policy Study (ISPS)

The original structure at 77 Prospect Street was designed by the firm of McKim, Mead & White in the Richardsonian Romanesque style with a “Dutch” stepped roof for the Phelps Association (Wolf’s Head Society), and purchased by the University in 1924. Giordano was asked to step in after a contractor had failed to complete the scope about half way through the project schedule. The stalled phased renovation and addition of a new wing (connection) of three historic buildings was quickly completed by the Giordano team. Two of the existing historic buildings were fully renovated (interior and exterior) for use as faculty offices. The 7400 sf new wing now unites the multiple disparate levels of the existing buildings and houses an informal meeting space, a lecture hall, a seminar room, and faculty offices.
